10 fresh bathroom design ideas We’re excited about 2023

Although we’re aware that a good design will outlast fashions, everyone will resist a great forecast of trends. We’re here to discern the good from the bad and present to you 2023’s design trends which we actually think will be sustainable.

We’ve discussed colors, kitchen trends, living room trends and trends in design general the general sense (whew! ) We’re focusing our attention upon one of our most private spaces in the house that is the bathroom. Though bathrooms are often neglected as a result, they’re an integral element of every home.

And because they’re that we typically begin our day, they must be a good starting point for us to achieve success. Therefore, we’ve looked through recent home tours and spoken with experts to determine what will make sense for the bathroom of 2023. Check out our top bathroom trends that you can incorporate into the next year.

1. The Rounded Rectangle Vanity Mirrors

We’re declaring that the rounded rectangle reigns supreme in 2023. It’s like the next change from the huge circle mirror which ruled in the past couple of years (which we are still very fond of). It’s straightforward and softly linear, which is the perfect balance between a rigid and angular rectangle and the complete circle.

Another point of discussion is the use they have for themselves. While the circle was known to be large and sloppy, the rectangle rounded is ideal in a smaller size (though we also love it at a larger size as well).

2. Floating Vanities

Floating vanities are hip you guys. It took time before there were truly stunning choices, which is the reason we’re not convinced that it’s been a been a hit until today. At one time, these were deemed too modern and had no visual depth. But, when they are made of a gorgeous material (like the wood ones) they’re smooth and light, which makes for a pleasant experience in the bathroom, right?

We’ve learned this from the blog post about kitchen trends but a seamless design is the new design trend of 2023. These vanities are aligned with this idea. They are also easy to wash which shouldn’t be overlooked.

3. Console Sink Vanities

These vanities are not ideal in a bathroom, but they’re stunning. This contemporary vanity is a way you can bring some gorgeous (even slight ornamental) design to your bathroom by using the legs design, and make it appear open and airy. It is certainly a vanity for the powder room but (unless you don’t have any items).

This style is a contemporary take on an old-fashioned style that lets us be very sure of its long-lasting potential. What we love and are now seeing is the more contemporary designs appearing to market in various materials. Whatever your taste you are able to incorporate some of these gorgeous designs in your bathroom design.

4. Wall-Mounted Toilets

Emily Henderson bathroom trends 2019

The floating toilet is the same story as that of the vanity floating. Up until recently, they were used in homes with the latest technology. However, the times have changed and we are predicting that they will be the bathroom of 2023.

Perhaps it’s because of the rapid advancement of technology in our lives that we’re more attracted to ultramodern style or perhaps the design is simply becoming better. It’s the classic “chicken or egg” dilemma. Whatever the reason, we’ve seen the floating toilet becoming more popular lately. Like we said floating sink, the bathroom has smaller spaces to gather dust, and some other bathroom odors. Just a quick swipe underneath the bowl and you’re finished. No more face-too-close-to-the-bowl-while-on-hands-and-knees-wiping-down-all-the-crevices.

5. Side Mounted Faucets

CONTROVERSY. Side mounted taps are now available and we’re pretty into it. It’s not only an incredible space-saving option for small spaces with sinks that are narrow, but it looks cool too. We’re not sure if this is a trend sure to be successful and will last for a long time, however we love seeing the new twist on traditional ways of working. Guys, LET’S GET WEIRD.

However, odd isn’t always the ideal choice when you’re talking about permanent fixture installation. Therefore, we’re extremely interested to know if you’re looking for this more controversial style. Do you want to do it, or do you have the mindset that “if your faucet’s mount isn’t broken, don’t repair it?”

6. No Shower Dam

Emily Henderson bathroom trends 2019

All hail dam-free, seamless showers. It’s so clear, clean and gorgeous. Don’t worry about your dam, if you have one . We believe it’s still the right choice when you have the bathroom design that’s to the traditional (like for instance, the Master baths in Portland). However, if you’re planning for a bathroom which is more modern you should definitely consider this look.

There’s something elegantly chic about this style. The most important aspect to take into consideration is the structure. The floor of your shower should be sloped towards an elongated drain. Drains are the only route to take as they keep the water from getting into the main part in your bath. If you don’t have a larger shower, you can utilize an in-center drain. Just remember less mess = less stress.

7. Floor-to-Ceiling Shower Glass Enclosure

If you’re considering remodeling and love the idea and the look of a seamless, dramatic look we strongly recommend floor-to-ceiling the glass enclosure. It’s beautiful and unique (because most of the time it’s). The basic idea is a slam-dunk.

This floor-to-ceiling style is also a good fit for the side of the glass wall. The bathroom above could be gorgeous If they had used an elongated, shorter rectangle but it would visually cut off the space and made it appear smaller. However, with this design the bathroom looks SUPER high, visually seamless and very customized.

8. Long Skinny Tiles

Emily Henderson bathroom trends 2019

Long skinny tiles are one of the trends that came out towards the end of this year but is going forward at a rapid pace into 2023. Do double-stacked staggered tiles ring an alarm? This long thin tile like the cool, little sister to the traditional subway tile. Both are amazing, but one of them is a bit more modern in comparison to the others. In the end, it looks amazing.

Emily Henderson bathroom trends 2019

The trend of 2018 in tiling was the stacking of tiles across all widths and sizes. We believe that by 2023 we’ll see lots of A. mostly thin tiles as well as B. diverse styles (not only stacking). It’s going be a wild ride people.

9. Polished Nickel

Emily Henderson bathroom trends 2019

Yep. We are the ones who are more awed by unlacquered brass than the rest, we’re affirming that polished nickel will be the new metal for 2023. The thing we like about it is that it has a warmer tone, which makes it more pleasant than chrome. We believe that it’s more expensive metal in the silver family, which is the reason why people love it.

Emily Henderson bathroom trends 2019

To be certain, we’re not suggesting that brass is dead. Do you think it’s possible what it would be like? However, with the trend for dark honed marble in the making and the silver toned (especially polished nickel) fixtures blend visually with the hue is more subtle. Brass is a more striking and vibrant choice for this combo. We are happy with this new trend and hope it sticks around as it’s high time space was created in the world of fixtures to accommodate something different. Are you satisfied with this change?

10. Making use of Marble as Art

Emily Henderson bathroom trends 2019

The year 2023 is when a beautiful piece of stone or marble is all you require in your bathroom…right? Mother Nature is quite the artist. Naturally, the volume of stones is $$$, therefore not practical suitable for all people, but it’s enjoyable to take a look at spaces that inspire often as design nerds and experts. A plain wall painted is fine however when we’re dreaming…surfaces like the one in the image above are stunning and striking and makes the other elements of the design simple.

Particularly in the marble/stone art world, we’ve seen a massive revival of book-matched marbles like the one in this bathroom . You can see the way that the two pieces of marble reflect each one another? This is known as book-matched marble. For a long period, this style was considered outdated with basic pieces of stone, however, nowadays, with designers employing a variety of interesting “art-like” marble and it’s to the forefront with a vengeance. It’s like a real ’90s remake film.

That’s it for now of our bathroom trends predictions for 2023.
